New Zealand Mental Health & Addictions Workforce Development programmes


The New Zealand Ministry of Health funds four national centres for development of the mental health and addictions workforce. These centres are responsible for progressing the following five strategic workforce development imperatives:

  •              Research and Evaluation
  •             Training and Development
  •           Organisational Development
  •             Recruitment and Retention
  •  Infrastructure for Workforce Development

The Regional Mental Health Workforce Development Services were established in 2004 to facilitate uptake of workforce development opportunities within their region and nationally.
